Just the other day a journalist from The Globe & Mail got in touch with me to interview me for a piece on furniture and home goods from Africa. It called to mind this shoot I did for House & Home magazine while back. I worked with designer Susan Burns and my H&H colleague Meg Crossley, with Robin Stubbert as the photographer. The store Snob in Toronto was one of my first stops to pick up a few accessories for the shoot. The basket in this shot is from Snob and I just love it. It brings some lovely texture to this vignette and a little hipness to the family antique it sits on. Here are a few more current favourites from Snob:

I was so pleased to see the Globe article The New African Aesthetic by Nana Spio-Garbrah because it introduced me to so many more great sources of African design.
