Stony Lake Furniture Launches Online Shopping

This shop is one of my favourite follows in my Kawartha Lakes Region homeland. The Stony Lake Furniture Co. is located in the most charming building in Lakefield, Ont., known to the rest of the world mostly as one-time home of Margaret Lawrence and home to Lakefield College School, which counts the current King of Spain and Prince Andrew among its alumni. But back to the shop. Proprietor Lisa Besseling has pulled together a super cool collection the mixes relaxed cottage style with Scandinavian minimalism and the character of handmade items by local artisans. Recently Lisa added e-commerce to her site so that even if you aren't lucky enough to visit pretty downtown Lakefield you can still pickup some of her signature style. P.S. Lisa also operates her own interior design business on site and can handle everything from a consultation to a full house or kitchen overhaul. Here are my favourite picks from the site right now:

J'adore these — use them as plant cachepots, to stash office stuff, fabric samples, makeup, potatoes, onions, knitting — whatever. Uashmama washable paper storage bags, starting at $10. 

Handy for around the kitchen or crafting table to sweep up all the bits. You know the bits. The ones you are always tempted to just flick to the floor. Don't do it. Get this. Sweep Funnel and brush, black, $90.

Ahhh the delightful aroma of fig — a little bit sweet but not cloying. A crowd pleaser. TineKHome fig candle, $23.

OWEN! I couldn't write about Stony Lake Furniture without acknowledging it's superstar mascot Owen the Brussels Griffon.
